I started writing in this little space a little over a year ago and was tickled when all three of my readers stopped by on a regular basis (thanks Mom, Grandma, and my sister, Callie!). I don't think I had any real goals and I'm not sure I really thought I'd stick with it for long, but I've made it a year! And that seems like a good reason to celebrate, don't you think? Besides, it's February, cold and dreary, and that alone is reason to celebrate in my book.
So, here's what we'll do. We're going to leave the cool February weather outside and focus on spring. Leave a comment (all twelve of you HA!) and tell me your favorite thing about spring. I'll draw a name randomly and send you something just from me! If you have a child or grandchild who you'd like something special for, I'll create something from my stash. Moms of Boys, you're in this too...we can create something sweet and boy-ish. If you don't have a child, don't worry, if you win, we'll work something out...I'll send you some fabric or something!
We'll leave it open until Thursday-ish and I'll draw on Thursday-ish to give anyone a chance to leave a comment. Sound good?
Here's to spring right around the corner, good friends, and many more blog posts to come!
Sadly to most, I am such a Winter person and wish it lasted all year. Spring is not my favorite as it means melting/mud season to me and the beauty of the snow goes away..BUT probably my favorite thing about Spring is being able to do your hair knowing you won't be putting on a hat on your head for the first time in 5 months. :)

I can not wait for spring. I am sick of mittens, snowpants and hats. I am looking forward to being outside again. I look forward to grilling and sitting out on my deck while the girls play outside.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE when the weather gets warm enough to drive around town with the windows down... there's something rejuvenating about tooling around with the wind blowing your hair and some peppy chick rock song blaring on the radio. :-)
ReplyDeleteUm, I love Tracy, but she is crazy. I love the flowers. Oh how I love spring flowers.
ReplyDeleteThe only way I can track my dog is looking for the tips of her ears...dang low rider! I just dropped some cold hard cash of Naartjie and itchign for Boden but can't justify it w/o free shipping/returns.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a spring and summer girl! I've loved looking at Callie's new pictures at Singapore and wishing we had that weather now! I love flip flops and leaving the front door open. I can't believe my hydrangea is already trying to peek through and my magnolia has buds. They better wait a bit longer! Didn't they talk to the groundhog first?!?!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for it to be green again outside - unfortunately where we live that won't happen until sometime in May or even June. February is the absolute worst month of the year IMHO - hate it!
ReplyDeleteHmm...I love spring...the newness of everything it brings and I love being able to be outside. I am looking forward to light spring jackets, walks, and little Adalynn sitting in the green grass:)
ReplyDeleteSPRING!!!!! I can't wait until the Magnolia blooms begin to peek out of the ends of the branches, and to feel the glorious SUN shining on my face! Oh, and the smell of the dewey grass in the morning, and those beautiful daffodils emerging from the ground!!! I'm soooo excited (as I look out my living room window at the TWO FEET of snow that has fallen over the last few days...spring can't come soon enough)!!!!!!!!!! ;)

The sun peaks out and creates enough warmth for open toed shoes! Given we don't get a spring frost, my magnolia blooms and then Easter!
ReplyDeleteShoot! I wish I would've seen this earlier! :) But I will post, contest or note. I love taking walks and smelling the sweet air, feeling the breeze, seeing the buds on the trees, and watching the kids and dogs play in the yards and chase each other. And of course, watching the new couples, the new parents, the newleyweds in spring . . . this season holds so much hope.
